Tina Chang

VIce CHAIR | She/Her/Hers

Tina Chang Funai has dedicated her career to shaping spaces, neighborhoods, and cities with a deep commitment to inclusive transformation. Her belief that the built environment should serve and uplift communities aligns closely with the mission of the Homeless Prenatal Program—a nationally recognized organization that empowers women and families to break the cycle of poverty.

Currently a Partner at Associate Capital, Tina leads the design and development of the 29-acre Dogpatch Power Station, a transformative mixed-use waterfront community in San Francisco. Her work is driven by a belief that development is about more than brick and mortar—it’s about creating places that improve the lives of those who inhabit them.

Prior to joining Associate Capital, Tina spent nearly a decade in public service. She served as a Senior Planner with the San Francisco Planning Department, managing complex entitlement projects, and earlier in her career, master-planned U.S. Naval installations in the Middle East and Washington, D.C. region with the U.S. Navy.

Tina holds a Master of City and Regional Planning from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in International Development Studies from UCLA. She previously served as a commissioner for the San Francisco Board of Appeals and is honored to contribute her time, experience and perspectives as a member of the Board of the Homeless Prenatal Program, advancing its mission to create lasting change for vulnerable families in the city she helps shape.
