HPP’s Housing Assistance Program serves hundreds of families annually with housing case management; limited, short-term financial assistance; and workshops that help families obtain and retain safe housing.
Receiving Housing Assistance
In addition to housing counseling, strategy and search, HPP helps families apply for rental assistance from the San Francisco Emergency Rental Assistance Program (SFERAP). Eligibility for housing services and resources vary, please review our most recent FAQ Housing Guide for more details.

Financial Assistance
Move-in deposit and/or first month’s rent, and/or for other potential barriers to permanent housing.
Individual Housing Counseling
Application assistance, search support and tenant support.
Housing Workshops
Information on application processes, as well as one-on-one support with credit issues and tenant rights and responsibilities.
Home Goods
Assistance with home goods for move-in ready families.
Financial Coaching
Onsite financial coaching through the BALANCE Financial Fitness Program.

Back rent and housing assistance.
