Kian Alavi

Kian Alavi is the CEO and co-founder of Mazlo, a fintech building specialized financial services for the nonprofit sector. Previously, Kian served as the Deputy Director for the Good Samaritan Family Resource Center, where he was responsible for building operational excellence, ensuring high-quality, data-driven, and financially sustainable programs, and managing cross-departmental functions, including technology, strategy, development, and talent development. In the last decade, he has served in various community posts including committee member of the Mayor’s Children and Families Pandemic Recovery Task Force, represented the Mission District on the Transportation Authority’s Citizen Advisory Committee, and co-chaired the Children and Youth Fund Service Providers Working Group. He is a recipient of the Jefferson Award for Community Service and a YBCA 100 honoree. He earned his BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
