I was homeless and did drugs before I came to HPP. I had an abusive father, been on the streets since I was 14 after being in a bunch of foster homes and did whatever I had to do to survive. I went to a drug program and I’ve been clean since. When I came to HPP, everything about my life was about my children. My case manager Veronica helped me research housing, fill out applications, and took me through the housing process. When the deposit came through, it was a blessing. Right now, I’m almost done with my AA degree in medical assisting while interning at a chiropractor’s office, and my goal is to become a registered nurse. I am so grateful to HPP for helping me through my struggles. My kids keep me going and motivate me to want to achieve my goals. I want everything to be stable for them, and that means going to a stable school and having a stable home. I want to be able to give my kids the life I never had as a child.
