“HPP is for families of all kinds,” says HPP’s Eli in the new short film “Strengthening Families” in Let’s Get Street Smart (Micro-Documentaries). Eli represents one of the many different types of families HPP helps every year. As a single dad, Eli found HPP at a time in his life when he needed support.
Now an HPP Case Manager, Eli plays a leading role in the agency’s Fatherhood Initiative, including the Fatherhood Reunification Education Empowerment Project (FREE Project) — a support group held at HPP for fathers who want to be a part of their children’s lives. HPP works to help families gain stability and self sufficiency, offering services such as substance abuse support, child welfare, and fatherhood support.
Thank you for investing in families — in Eli and the thousands of other parents at HPP that are working to change their lives on behalf of their children.
“Of all the rocks upon which we build our lives, we are reminded today that family is the most important. And we are called to recognize and honor how critical every father is to that foundation. They are teachers and coaches. They are mentors and role models.” – US President Barack Obama, June 2008
