HPP is pleased to announce that it has partnered with an impressive variety of community organizations to supply 120 brand new beds for recently-housed families. HPP helps over 400 low-income and homeless families per year obtain housing by offering rental assistance and other support services. HPP helps provide household essentials such as dishes and sheets for these families through our Home Goods program, and we are pleased to expand the program through this generous donation from Sealy.
This partnership was an organized community effort. San Francisco-based nonprofit Tipping Point Community directed the donation from Sealy mattresses to HPP. HPP was honored to receive the donation, but did not have storage capacity for so many large items. A generous anonymous donation of free storage space allows HPP to access the mattresses as needed, so they can bring these important furnishings into new over a hundred new homes this year.
HPP believes that this is multifaceted partnership demonstrates San Francisco’s ability to approach solutions to homelessness as a community effort. The agency commends all involved: Sealy, Tipping Point Community, other organizations– and the families themselves, especially the hundreds of parents who are transforming their lives for their children.
